Core desired feelings

vitality, brilliance, connection, wonder

Q & A

Q: What are your Core Desired Feelings?

Vitality - Exuberant physical strength and mental vigor. The capacity for a meaningful and purposeful existence. Abundant power to live and grow.

Connection - "The energy that exists between people when they feel seen, heard, and valued; when they can give and receive without judgement," - Brene Brown.

Brilliance - Magnificent energy radiating out in all directions. Warmth. A passionate exchange of ideas that sheds light in dark places.

Wonder - Exceptional curiosity and overflowing admiration, amazement, and awe.

Q: How / where did you Desire Map? What did you love about doing it that way?

On my balcony with a bottle of wine. Feeling relaxed and sitting in a beautiful space put me in the perfect frame of mind for the deep introspection The Desire Map requires.

Q: Tell me a specific story about how knowing your CDFs has changed your life.

When I am feeling bad, knowing my CDFs helps me understand what's missing. I notice that I don't feel the way that I want to feel. Then I think about how I DO want to feel in that situation and take action. This has been incredibly useful in work situations. In large meetings I sometimes start to drag. And I will notice that I WANT to feel Brilliance - a passionate exchange of ideas - and I will realize that I am holding MY ideas back. That noticing reminds me to speak up. And gets my ideas noticed, too.

Q: Why are you passionate about sharing this work with others?

I am passionate about The Desire Map because it works. Because it gives you a framework for achievement that is deeply motivating. And it encourages you to give yourself permission to be exactly who you were made to be.
